We're Going Green!
Tired of looking at those stacks of magazines
using up precious fabric space on your shelves? Oh Boy, do I have a
solution for you!
We are going to pilot a magazine exchange program.
I want to keep it very simple. I will have a table set up close to the
Library where you can drop off your magazines and browse through the
magazines already collected. Won¹t this be a wonderful way to share all
those fun quilting magazines and clean up some space in your studio.
So go through your magazines and tear out all the
patterns you want to keep then put them in a nice binder for some future
UFO¹s!

Library!

from the Library. Books are to be returned at the next meeting.
Stitched the film by
Jenalia Moreno
Stitched follows three art quilters- Caryl Bryer Fallert, Hollis
Chatelain and Randall Cook, as
they create their entries for the 2010 International Quilt Festival
in Houston, the nation’s largest quilt show. This fun-filled documentary
highlights the bonds of friendship amongst quilters and
the enormity of the quilting world with 21 million practicing their
craft in the U.S. alone.
Adventures in Design by Joen Wolfrom
This is the quilter's design textbook, using Joen's
internationally-acclaimed expertise and talent to illustrate the seven
principals of design: line, shape, color, value, texture, proportion,
and scale. Plus you can practice what you’ve learned with exercise at
the end of each chapter.
Inspirational Applique by Cheryl Almgren Tayor
The author of the popular
Deck the Halls presents gorgeous applique designs inspired by well-
known Bible passages. Filled with motifs from nature, such as wheat
sheaves and vines, these 11 pretty projects have wide appeal. Choose
from eye-catching designs that include wall hangings, table runners, a
table topper, and a pillow. Lift your spirits with "Birds of the Air,"
"Faith, Hope, and Love," and many more. You will find full-sized
applique templates and clear, step-by-step instructions in this amazing book.
Check out these new additions to our library plus many more. Don’t
forget to bring your magazines to donate and be sure to check out what
issues your guild friends have brought for you! Please be sure to sign
up to volunteer for the library. As a member of the guild you can check
out 5 books and keep them until the next meeting (2 months). But if you
forget to bring them back it is a $1.00 fine per book per meeting
missed! Or maybe you would like to work off your fine by helping with
the library
