It has been a challenging few months for the guild and for the Neonatal team, as well as the NICU at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Thanks to those of you who have been making quilts, we were able to make two deliveries in the past couple of months totalling approximately 500 quilts. We spoke to the social workers and they said they have been extremely busy and near capacity for quite a while. The need is great to keep them supplied with quilts. We’ve delivered everything we have and are looking forward to your creations.
I wanted to let you know some things we are doing to both collect quilts and supply kits. We are very happy to have you drop quilts off at any of our homes. Just call, text or email us and let us know you’re coming. Queen Bee quilt shop has been very generous in also offering their shop as a drop off point for completed quilts. Check their hours before heading there. Julie has most of the kits at her house. Get in touch with her if you want to pick some up.
Our quilt kit pile is getting low. We have a number of easy, tried and true, NICU patterns. Let us know if you’d like us to send one to you by email.
